Of Goethe Director Marc Chornet

Mephistopheles makes a wager with God that he can turn God’s favourite human being (Faust), a person with a desire to learn everything he can. The Devil appears before Faust and they enter into a contract (signed with blood). Mephistopheles will do anything Faust wants in life as long as Faust serves him in hell. During one of his adventures, Faust meets Margaret (also called Gretchen) and falls in love with her and the Devil makes her fall in love with Faust. Margaret falls pregnant and is imprisoned for drowning her child. Faust tries to save her with the help of the Devil, but she refuses the help of Mephistopheles, because she prefers to die repentant of her acts in order to receive the grace of God.
