Deliri a dos
By Eugène Ionesco Director Montse Bonet
The author presents us with two characters, HE and SHE, locked in their shell, who have been together for many years. An elderly man and woman in a sort of hideout in which holds their entire past, surrounded by a world at war, which is gradually penetrating into their refuge.
HE and SHE are all of us, just as the aggressive and violent outside world is the world we are becoming used to living in and, by force, to living together in.
With his gallows humour, Ionesco describes the madness of having to exist, the anguish in the face of death’s inevitability, the difficulty of human relationships, desires, fears, sensitivity, lost innocence All of this from the perspective of an author who never veers away from the human being and from his capacity for liberating humour.
